**Are you looking to reach an emblematic Peruvian summit? Then climbing Nevado Pisco is the adventure for you!**

**Nevado Pisco** (**5752 m**) is a great option for those with little mountaineering experience and high mountaineering curiosity. The ascent is not too steep and is only moderately difficult. And during the way, the views of the **Cordillera Blanca** are truly magnificent. For example, you'll see Mount Huascarán (6768 m), the highest mountain in Peru.

On this 3-day program, we will set off from Huaraz. We will climb gently to make sure that you have time to properly acclimatize to the altitude. Furthermore, this will give us a chance to admire our beautiful surroundings. You can find a detailed itinerary below.

Keep in mind that although you don't need technical climbing experience to join this program, you do need a good fitness level. So start training! Of course, we will be there to help and guide you.

Arrival at Base Camp. This is one of the easiest mountains in the area. Keep in mind that it’s a real high tour with 30° ice passages and chinks on the glacier.

We start at Cebollapampa to reach the basecamp of Nevado Pisco. After a first steep section, a flatter part continues. Then we will encounter a small waterfall and reach a small area which is ideal to build our base camp.

Huaraz - Base Camp (4700 m)

The summit of the Pisco could also be reached in 2 days, but in order to acclimatize, it is best done in 3.

We will start to climb to the top sometime before sunset. It’s important to carry headlamps, as they will be lighting our way through the stony ground.

Then we will pass an area of slidy rocks below the Huandoy glacier where we have to calculate with falling stones and be very careful. On the other side of the glacier there are dark rocks that serve us a better way to the top of Nevado Pisco, although they don’t seem to be quite consistent.

Soon we will be arriving to the base of the Nevado Pisco’s glacier. In almost every case, there is a clear trace showing us the way to the saddle. We have to follow the steep ascent before reaching the top at 5760 m.

From the summit we can observe many mountains such as Huandoy, Chopiqualqui and giant Nevado Huascarán.

Climbing the **Gran Paradiso** in Valsavarenche is an awesome mountaineering experience. It is a straightforward climb with amazing, rewarding views from the summit. Join us and let us show you this stunning peak!

At 4,061 m (13,323 ft), Gran Paradiso stands tall in the Alps, between the Aosta Valley and Piedmont regions in Italy. This beautiful mountain is relatively easy to climb, although the rocky terrain near the summit requires some prior mountaineering experience. On this program, we will show you the way to the top of this lovely peak, and you will experience all of its splendor.

During the first day of the trip, we’ll enjoy an easy 3-hour hike to **Rifugio Chabod.** Then, on day 2, we will climb to the summit of Gran Paradiso and enjoy the stunning views that have earned it its name before coming back down to the Victor Emmanuel refuge.&#x20;

Before bidding farewell, we'll cap off our adventure with a contemplative ascent of Tresenta, offering splendid views of the Gran Paradiso massif. Then we'll descend to the Victor Emmanuel II refuge and return to the valley at the end of the afternoon.

**This is a very special ascent because:**

* We may have the chance to observe Alpin animals (like ibex and chamois) on the way to the hut;
* Italian huts are always very welcoming and the food is fantastic;
* The views are breathtaking on the way up, down, and from the summit;
* The Gran Paradiso is very often climbed by mountaineers who want to prepare and acclimatize for ascending Mont Blanc.

Starting from Chamonix early in the morning, you'll meet your guide for a briefing on the trip and equipment check, including rental if needed. Then, it's off to Italy's Valsavarenche valley, about 70km away. Once at the Pravieux mountain pasture (1834m), you'll begin your ascent to the Chabod refuge (2750m) along a well-marked path.

**Elevation gain:** 916 meters&#x20;

**Maximum Altitude:** 2750 meters&#x20;

**Accommodation:** Chabod Refuge.

Journey towards Chabod refuge

We'll set off very early for the ascent of Gran Paradiso, where you'll be able to catch a glimpse of Mont Viso, Monte Rosa, the Mont Blanc massif, and other peaks! This route features diverse glacial slopes, culminating in a rocky summit push to the Virgin Peak. Don't forget to capture this magical moment with a photo! Afterward, we'll descend to the Victor Emmanuel refuge.

**Max Altitude:** 4061 meters

Ascent of Gran Paradiso  

We'll start the glacial ascent via the Montcorvé glacier, leading us to the summit scree of Tresenta (3609m)—yet another breathtaking viewpoint overlooking the Gran Paradiso massif.&#x20;

We'll then descend to the Victor Emmanuel II refuge and make our way back to the valley by late afternoon.

Gran Paradiso Guided Ascent

**I invite you to a beautiful, popular and short trek in the Cordillera Blanca, in Peru. It is an 8-day trip around the Santa Cruz Circuit and climbing Nevado Pisco, at 5760 m.**

Starting from the city of **Huaraz,** you'll enjoy wonderful views of the mountains and lagoons. Besides, there'll be a hard ascent to **'Punta Union'**, a pass at 4759 m.

**Nevado Pisco** is a very attractive mountain. Although you need to be acclimatised, it doesn't require any previous experience.

The ascent is moderately difficult and not very steep.

As a reward, you will have beautiful views of the Cordillera Blanca, like Mount Huascaran, the highest mountain in Peru at 6768 m.

Santa Cruz Circuit and climbing Nevado Pisco

### **With its pyramidal shape, the** Nevado Alpamayo **is one of the most beautiful mountains in the world.**

It's my pleasure to guide you to the **Mount Alpamayo** on this 6-day trip. This peak can be seen as a symmetric pyramid from one side, with branches and huge ice balconies. From the other side, you can also enjoy beautiful views.

If you want to join me on this **6-day expedition** keep in mind you must be well acclimatized since the ascent is very steep and involves a high technical level. That's why I always recommend to have prior experience as well as do an intensive warm up in the area. The best season to climb the Nevado Alpamayo is **from June to August**. I can lead a group of no more than 12 participants.

From Huaraz we’ll take a transfer to the village of Cashapampa via the valley of Santa river. Then, we’ll start the Santa Cruz Trek after meeting our local porters and donkeys. We’ll reach to Llamacoral where we’ll set up camp (-/L/D).

Huaraz - Transfer to Cashapampa- Trekking to Llamacoral (3850 m)

From the Llamacoral campsite we will hike up to Arhuaycocha (4300 m) enjoying amazing views of the Alpamayo, Artesnorahu and Taulliraju peaks. Night at the Alpamayo Base Camp (B/L/D).

Llamacoral - Alpamayo Base Camp (4350 m)

Today we will have breakfast and prepare the equipment for the expedition. To continue from this camp we will need the help of our local team (porters, cook and donkeys). We will start walking through a trail with steep moraine, passing by the tongue of the glacier to finally reach the Alpamayo Moraine Camp (B/L/D).

Alpamayo Base Camp - Ascend to Alpamayo Moraine Camp (4900 m)

The Alpamayo High Camp is on the steep glacier at the base of Alpamayo and Quitaraju mountains. Due to the constant shrinkage of the glacier, every year we find a different situation along this section. Anyway, we will enojoy magnificent views from the High Camp. We will have dinner early because we must wake up at 3 AM, for the long day that awaits tomorrow. Overnight Camp (B/L/D).

Moraine Camp - Ascend to Alpamayo High Camp (5300 m)

Summit day! One possible ascent route is the French route, a 60-80-degree ice wall which leads us to the top. Above the wall, you will have to climb a few meters to the highest point of the narrow ridge. Once at the summit, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the Cordillera Blanca! After a brief rest and some photos, we must return quickly to the High Camp via a rappel by the same route we ascended. With good weather, the climb to the summit and return to base camp can be done before noon. The ascent takes 5-6 hours and the descent about 2-3 hours. If participants are tired, we can sleep one more night in the High Camp. If everyone feels fine, which is usual, we will descend to the Alpamayo Base Camp (B/L/D).

High Camp - Alpamayo Summit (5947 m) - High Camp or Descend to Base Camp

Today we will get up early in order to descend through the Santa Cruz valley to Cashapampa (about 6 hours.) In this village our minibus awaits to take us back to Huaraz. Lodging at the hotel in the city (B/L/-).
